THINGS TO DO AND SEE

Walking & Cycling

There are numerous walking and cycling routes from the house. On our doorstep is the National Trust Scotney Castle. It is a 2 minute along our lane to enter the Scotney estate (for walkers only).

Scotney Castle has a long and rich history dating from 1137 and holds some interesting stories about the last inhabitants of the castle, the Hussey family, as well as a former Prime Minister too.

Bedgebury Pinetum and Bedgebury forest is a 20 minute walk or a 10 minute cycle ride from Bramley House. Bedgebury has great walks and fantastic mountain bike trails suitable for both families and the more adventurous cyclists. Bedgebury also has ‘Go Ape’ which is a “wild outdoor adventure activity centre”.

Bewl Water Reservoir is a 5 minute drive away and has lovely trail walking and off-road cycling all around the reservoir.

  • We have secure storage for bicycles
  • We can provide packed lunches if required
